NEC On-Premises Systems Are Being Phased Out

Your NEC Phone System
Has an Expiry Date.
Let's Plan Around It.

NEC isn't going out of business, but it is ending its on-premises phone systems. If your business runs an NEC PBX, the support clock is already ticking. Inline has spent nearly 30 years helping GTA businesses move off legacy hardware, and we can make this transition a step forward instead of a scramble.

What's Affected

Is Your System on the List?

NEC's wind-down covers its current and legacy on-premises lines. If you're running any of these, now is the time to plan your next move.

The Countdown

Three Dates That Decide Your Timeline

1
Dec 31, 2024
End of New Deliveries
The last date to order on-site phone system products, including new phones and replacement parts. After this, growing or repairing your system gets difficult.
2
Dec 31, 2025
End of Upgrade
The final date to purchase the CP-20 upgrade and extended software assurance. Miss it and you can no longer extend your system's supported life.
3
Mar 31, 2030
End of Support
Software and technical assurance for the listed systems ends entirely. From this point your NEC system runs entirely at your own risk.

What Standing Still Costs You

  • No new parts or phones once deliveries end, so a single hardware failure can take a desk offline for good.
  • No path to extend support after the upgrade window closes.
  • Running unsupported software after 2030 means no patches, no fixes, and no one to call.
  • Every year of delay shortens your runway and narrows your options.

What Moving Forward Gives You

  • Cloud-based unified communications with better call quality and a stronger customer experience.
  • Lower ongoing costs and simpler, streamlined workflows.
  • Built-in support for hybrid and remote teams, not bolted-on workarounds.
  • Real-time and historical call reporting that legacy NEC systems never offered.
